Louis E. Sousa joined Plimoth Investment Advisors in 2016 as the Chief Investment Officer where he oversees the investment management process and the firm’s asset allocation strategies.  He works closely with the team of Investment Officers to keep clients informed of important economic developments and financial market dynamics while focusing on achieving their unique investment objectives.

Lou is an experienced portfolio manager having spent over 30 years in the investment industry.  He spent eight years at Scudder Investments where he became a Vice President of the firm working with various types of institutional and retail clients primarily on multi-strategy asset allocation portfolios.  He was a founding member of the investment office at Wellesley College in 2002 where he spent 10 years as a member of the team managing the College endowment.  He later went on to manage marketable equities and hedge fund strategies for Williams College.

Lou earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Roger Williams University in Business Administration with minors in Finance and Economics.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and Boston Security Analysts Society.  He also completed a Senior Executive Investment Management program through Harvard Business School Executive Education.

Lou currently serves as a member of the Finance Committee and as a Corporator of the SouthCoast Community Foundation where he served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors from 2017–2023 in a number of capacities including: Treasurer, Chair of the Finance Committee and member of the Investment Committee and Audit Committee.  He also currently serves on the Investment Committee of the Diocese of Fall River. 

Lou grew up in nearby Bristol, RI.  He is the proud father of two children pursuing their academic careers in college.  In his spare time, he enjoys paddleboarding, playing poker, and walks with the family Yorkie.
