SWANSEA, MATTAPOISETT, PLYMOUTH, MA — Plimoth Investment Advisors is pleased to announce the promotion of Mark J. Gendreau, CFP®, to President and Chief Executive Officer.

A respected investment professional with more than 15 years of experience at Plimoth Investment Advisors, Gendreau has played an instrumental role in the firm’s growth and success, helping clients pursue their financial goals through disciplined investment management, thoughtful planning, and personalized service.

As President and Chief Executive Officer, Gendreau will oversee the firm’s strategic direction, investment philosophy, client service initiatives, and long-term growth, while continuing to uphold Plimoth’s commitment to delivering exceptional investment advisory and trust services throughout the region.

Gendreau was named Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Plimoth Investment Advisors in 2025. In that role, he oversaw investment strategy, asset allocation, and the firm’s team of Investment Officers while actively managing client portfolios. Prior to that appointment, he served as First Vice President, Investment Officer, and Director of Research, following a series of investment research, portfolio management, and trading roles after joining Plimoth in 2009.

Before beginning his investment management career at Plimoth, Gendreau served as a Credit Analyst for BayCoast Bank.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Gendreau earned a bachelor’s degree before completing a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He also holds the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gendreau is deeply committed to community service throughout the South Coast. In 2016, he received the John F. Brayton Jr. Memorial Community Service Award from the Bristol County Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as President of the Fall River Historical Society, while also serving on the board of Catholic Charities, the Foundation Board of Argosy Collegiate Charter School, the YMCA of Fall River Board of Advisors and the FACE Scholarship Committee. He is also a Past President of the Fall River Lions Club.

A resident of Mattapoisett, Gendreau and his wife are the proud parents of three children. When he is not working with clients or volunteering in the community, he enjoys golfing, following his favorite sports teams, and watching classic films.
